Hello citizens of the interwebs. Thanks so much for checking out our project.

We think a naked wrist is a terrible, terrible thing. Good thing we have designed a fun and fashionable remedy for this plague on humanity.  Say hello to the Deckster, the ideal unisex tailoring for the Apple iPod nano. The Deckster showcases the marriage of versatile design, quality materials and fine craftsmanship. Our goal from the start was to have everything (aluminum jacket, leather bands and paper packaging) made in North America using sustainable processes, but it has proven to be 3x more expensive than overseas manufacturing.

We need your help. We are seeking $30,000 which is half of the tooling and setup costs for the aluminum housing and the handcrafted leather bands. Check out the funding options on the left side, we have designed custom stickers, postcards, posters, t-shirts along along with SOMETHING SUPER SPECIAL as rewards for your support. The first 150 Decksters ordered on CKIE will be numbered on the inside plate. Check out our video up top if you haven't already.

Our Story

We are a husband and wife team living in dreamy Ottawa, Canada. In between raising our son and working full-time, we started N-Product, a lifestyle design company that is driven by our passion for creativity, quality and craftsmanship. The Deckster is our first product concept. We have been self funded while we worked on the prototype design and contacting potential suppliers. Working the midnight shift, it has been a labour of love for the last 6 months. Using on-shore manufacturing proved to be quite challenging and delayed the process greatly, but we still feel that the final result will be worth the time, money and effort.  

We love watches and we love music and fashion, the Deckster is a mélange of all three. CKIE is our opportunity to get our idea out there and hopefully reach out to people who like what we are about, and what we have created.

Deckster Prototype Preview

Deckster First:Class

The First:Class boasts the classic silver (in Cerakote finish) aircraft-grade aluminum jacket paired with either Midnight Black or Red Cherry premium handcrafted leather bands. The Red Cherry model is a shorter length, sizing based on North American female. Cerakote is a ceramic based coating that is used for industrial and military purposes, and it outperforms other finishes in protection and endurance. (approx retail will be $165 CAD — shipping in early July) 

Deckster Funk:Class (CKIE EXCLUSIVE)

For CKIE, we are debuting the Funk:Class. It has an unique mixed material design using leather and wool houndstooth for the bands. The aluminum jacket has a Cerakote finish in Electric Teal and Taxi Yellow to match the leather. (approx retail will be $185 CAD — shipping in early July)

Deckster Night:Class (CKIE EXCLUSIVE)

Another CKIE special, say hello to the Night:Class. Same great fit and finish, in stealth mode. The aluminum jacket has a Cerakote finish in 11:59 Black and Dusk Purple to match the leather. (approx retail will be $185 — shipping in early July)

Each Deckster pre-ordered on CKIE will have a special (N-Product X CKIE) stamping on the inside of the leather bands. 

Please Note: By nature of the handmade manufacturing of the leather bands, no two Decksters are identical. Finishing and colour may not be identical to images shown. Apple iPod nano is not incuded.

LIFETIME REWARD: N-PRODUCT BUILDERS CLUB
For CKIE, we wanted to create something unique and reward the early supporters which are so important for small up and coming companies like ours. So we thought long and hard and spoke with our accountant about our idea. He hated it, so we figured that we were onto something good. For pledges of $150 and over, you will be entitled to a 'Lifetime 15% Discount' on all future N-Product designs. We're calling this the N-Product Builders Club, it's our way of consistently saying thanks for the early support. To make our accountant happy, he forced us to have certain 'Terms & Conditions'. 

CKIE VENN DIAGRAM
CKIE has given us exposure to potential supporters that we could only dream of. We know the incredible value of this. So, we have designed a Venn diagram that shows the important relationship of all three parties involved. Us as the creators (N-PRODUCT), (YOU) fellow CKIEers and (CKIE) the platform that brought everything together. 

Stickers: Custom 6 in. high quality vinyl di-cut sticker. Perfect to slap on a tablet, a laptop (as seen below), a fridge, a notebook, maybe even on a cherished family pet.

Posters: Series of three 14 x 18 in. posters depicting the custom CKIE Venn diagram with a different image. X's will be replaced by final totals of CKIE benefactors and dollars raised. Post them in your bedroom, your office, your workshop—heck, you can even sew it on the back of your vintage acid wash jean jacket.

Postcards: Series of 5 x 7 in. postcards that are identical to poster designs but smaller and easier to store inside your sweater vest. Pledges of $25 or more will receive a personalized hand-written thank you message from us. And they say no one writes letters anymore.

T-shirts: Men's in (Grain-Fed Blue) and ladies' (Non-Shrinking Violet) tees are lush jersey cotton. Wear your support on your sleeve, or in this case, your mid-torso.  

Our Manufacturing & Suppliers

After many weeks of searching, we have solidified our 3 main supply partners. All are family owned and operated, located in Montréal, Québec and Portland, Oregon. They believe in our product and they are motivated in producing exquisite work. For every element of the Deckster, we chose the most sustainable option available, such as vegetable tanning process for the leather, recycled aluminum for the jacket housing and FSC paper for the packaging.
