Matthew Waldman is a New York based artist and designer most prominently known for creating Nooka Inc., a lab dedicated to exploring universal communication via form, language and fashion. Founded in 2004 and best known for its patented timepieces, Nooka continues to provocate deeper thought on fashion and everyday objects. When it comes to design, Matthew is a process driven, big-picture perfectionist. He contemplates every aspect of a product, from functionality, look-and-feel, branding, marketing, as well as social and ethical values—driven by an obsession to understand the difference between influences, inspiration, motivation and how this shapes the work of all creatives. This obsession has recently given rise to a new level of clarity in his work and an understanding of how it contributes to a “Universal Language.” With his brand Nooka, Matthew has created a system that transcends linguistic and cultural barriers. NOOKA + Creates physical manifestations of ideas. + Promotes universal communication via the form and visual language of fashion and design. + Brings a techno-progressivist set of expectations to the world of ordinary objects.
Ever since the release of our first Nooka watch designs, people have been asking for a wall clock version. Developing the molds and components for a large piece in limited quantities is an economic barrier you can help us overcome. How cool will it be to have an object championing universal communication to share with everyone in your world! We are a self-funded startup, and every one of your contributions will help us to turn these wall clocks into a reality. The Nooka wall clocks will retail at around $600 with a ZenV display and $650 with a Zirc display.
Our Story
Nooka is a New York fashion design company founded by artist/designer Matthew Waldman. The ethos of Nooka is universal language, which guides the creation of products with enhanced functionality and a futuristic philosophy. Most prominently known for its line of timepieces, Nooka has expanded their range, creating a Mindstyle™ brand with the addition of innovative accessories and a fragrance.
Nooka's popular display faces will be incorporated in to the wall clocks.

Rewards
If our project is funded, our contributors from $25 and up will all be listed on the back cover of the finished product, our web site, and all promotional materials related to the clock as a member of the development team. In addition:
$50 contributors will each receive a mini nookanooka, the Nooka mascot!
$100 contributors will receive a Nooka asset organizer, our silicone alternative to the conventional wallet, in the color of their choice.
$250 contributors will receive the option of their choice of a Nooka zub timepiece or a pair of our Nooka mercury sunglasses!
Each $500 contributor will receive the first edition of the Nooka wall clock with ZenV display (pictured right) while each $550 contributor will receive the first edition of the Nooka wall clock with Zirc display (pictured left).
Each $1000 contibutor will receive a very special signed limited edition ZenH copper version. On the top two rows the ZenH shows the current hours, while in the third row it displays minutes and the fourth row features the seconds.
Our $10,000 contributor will receive a 6 month honorary spot on the Nooka Corporate advisory and an item from each of our product categories: 1 watch, 1 nooka strip, 1 asset organizer, 1 pair of sunglasses, 1 fragrance, 1 nookanooka, and of course - the clock!
